British 10k London Run

Despite the scorching temperatures, not helped by the race start being delayed for 20 minutes, and only crossing the start line 35 minutes after that at about 10.25am, we all survived! We made our way round as fast as our increasingly weary legs would carry us to complete the 10K with big relieved grins all round at the finish – largely due to the promise of an ice cold drink.

The very scenic route around central London, started at Hyde Park Corner, ran down and along the Embankment and finished in Whitehall, between an hour and 90 minutes later along with 15,698 other people.

We have to extend a huge thank you to everyone that supported us and sponsored our crazy idea, so far we have raised over £750 for Tommy’s the Baby Charity. Tommy’s were the official race sponsor and are a fantastic charity who save babies’ lives by funding research and providing information on the causes and prevention of miscarriages, premature birth and stillbirth. Thank you to you all for your small and very sizeable donations alike, it certainly helped us to carry on despite the heat and get ourselves to the finish line.
