We have submitted planning for a 70 Bed Specialist Neurological Care Facility in Woodmansterne Lane, Wallington, Surrey.
The facility meets the need for interim or long term care and therapy for those with severe neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinsons and MND. The requirements for this use differ significantly from those of a more standard care home for older people – patients will generally be younger and more active than typical care home residents, with a higher proportion of wheelchair users will require larger rooms. The provision of treatment and therapy facilities
for residents and non-residents, also increases the overall space requirement.
A 70 bed facility is proposed to meet local need, to ensure efficient staffing and to optimize social interaction between patients and staff.
