We first looked at this site in 2010 for Anchor Housing and produced quite detailed proposals for a large retirement village including a village centre as a hub for social and domiciliary care. Work did not proceed at that time, but recently we have submitted a planning application for Beechcroft Developments and Bewley Homes for the same site.
The site is a sensitive one with two long open boundatries to green belt land. The proposals include a 64 bed care home, 35 assisted living cottages and apartments and 50 family houses and flats. At the heart of the scheme is a generously landscaped public open space.
