This retirement housing development sits on the western edge of Cambridgeshire close to the Northampton limestone belt, with the village of Elton centring on Elton Hall and the nearby parish church.
The site, with open farmland on two sides and the listed buildings of the old estate yard to the south, was considered very sensitive but planning permission was finally achieved after a long battle with the planning officers.
The 18 properties, comprising 8 retirement flats and 10 cottages, are built in local limestone around two courtyards, with the entire scheme designed to foster a secure and supportive community with management staff resident on site. As with all our retirement housing projects, the scheme conforms to Lifetime Homes and HAPPI design principles.
