As specialist retirement housing architects, RMA was brought in to prepare a concept design to initiate planning discussions for the first continuous care village in Northern Ireland for the local community.
On a beautiful site overlooking Strangford Lough the retirement housing scheme creates a series of interrelated garden spaces linked to a village square by a tree-lined boulevard. The village centre building, the care home and the extra care flats are placed around the square with the sheltered housing for the more independent elderly towards the edges of the site.
The scheme conforms to HAPPI design principles.
