Originally a builder's yard, the site was scheduled to remain in industrial use but with strong local support we gained consent for housing against the recommendation of the planning officers.

The design was heavily influenced by flood plain requirements (the beautiful sunken garden acts, in emergencies, as a floor reservoir) and the need to preserve a fine yew tree near the site entrance.
